WALKING INTO CHALICE STUDIOS TO MEET ROCK CITY WAS LIKE,WALKING INTO A LOCKER ROOM OF A BOXER WHO IS PREPARING FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT..LIKE WHEN MUMMHAD ALI FOUGHT JOE FAZIER, OSCAR DELA HOYA MET FLOYD MAYWEATHER,FIFTY AGAINST KANYE(YEAH ITS JUST THAT BIG).

igotitforfree:So Who is Rock City?
Theron:Two young brothers from the Virgin Island.I cant just call us a hip-hop group.First I would say we were a hiphop group but now I have to say we are world wide musicians
igotitforfree:So you have written for other artist?
Theron: Yes
igotitforfree:Name a few?
Theron: Lets see...Mario,Usher,Rich Boy,Akon,Beanie Segal,Nicole.
igotitforfree:oh..yeah who was your favorite?
Theron:man I have to say vocally Usher..I mean he's incredible..I dont think nobody can touch his singing.
igotitforfree:when did you start writing?
Theron:11 and 12.Gibson use to write for us but our dad didnt like that so we started writing for ourselves
igotitforfree:I know you guys represent.How was it growing up in V.I.?
Theron:We grew up poor,I mean we had a good childhood.We grew up with both parents which most kids dont and we grew up in musical house.We have never been in trouble with the law.
igotitforfree:How is the hiphop scene in V.I.?Theron:There wasn't a hiphop scene before us.
igotitforfree:
How do you think the industry perceives you now?
Theron:Honestly I think they respect us. They think we're different and that was our main goal.They respect our grind and our hustle.We are Just starting to find out how many fans we have in the carribean and we are getting new fans everyday.
igotitforfree:Lets talk about the mixtape for a mintue?
Theron:Okay.Its called "The Black Beatles".We called it that because our story is very similar to the Beatles.First records labels didnt get the Beatles then people caught on and said "they were the truth".Thats what happened to us.
igotitforfree:The leading underground song on the mixtape is "Stop Lying".Is it a campaign?Yes.Actually we were getting offended with music.We aint never sold drugs..A lot of rappers out here saying the same shit and everybody aint doing the same shit.
igotitforfree:what about she's gone?
Theron: it talks aboout hiphop and hows shes so lost
igotitforfree: and "Losing It" thats your leading single right?.
Theron:Yes.We wrote it for Trey songz and Trey didnt really like it.We was like we don't do those types of songs..then one day we was playing it and Erica Grayson (Geffen A&R) walked in the room and said we can't give it away, its a hit.So we did it and it came out hot
